However, its application is useful for any industry that requires filling PDF forms with repetitive data. If you are looking to fill and sign a form that is a one-time use (e.g., a home sale contract), SimpleSurg may not be for you, and there are programs like Docusign or DocHub that are better suited. However, if you are in an industry where the same form has to be filled out daily (e.g., surgery booking packets or intake forms), SimpleSurg may help streamline the process, especially with lengthy forms that have repetitive information.It includes features such as:

• Form Management: Create, edit, and fill out PDF forms.

• Automated Form Filling: Enter data once and populate it across the form.
• Digital Signing: Sign your documents digitally, including digital image of the signature

Digital Signing Disclaimer

As of 7/1/2024, our digital signing process involves the use of cryptographic techniques and secure storage solutions. The process is as follows:

• Key Generation and Storage: We use OpenSSL to generate a pair of keys – a private key for signing and a public key for verification. These keys are stored securely as Heroku environment variables and are managed internally by the application.
• Signing Process: When a PDF is signed, the application creates a unique digital signature using the private key.
• Certificate and Document Storage: The digital signature (certificate) is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database on Heroku. The original signed document is stored securely in an AWS S3 bucket.
